The A's coaches would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all of the players' parents for a wonderful season. This was a very intense 60 days of baseball, and we want to thank all of you for showing up to so many games and practices.
It was an honor and a privilege to coach your sons. I am sure I will never coach a team quite like this again. They were talented, they were fun, they were just a really nice bunch of boys. It made our job both easy and enjoyable.
I try to coach under the guiding principles of making it fun for the boys, but also creating memories for them that will last a lifetime. Of course, the great irony is that while we were trying to do this, it was the coaches who were enjoying themselves immensely and collecting memories of their own.
The A's are the champions, and the boys deserve it. They should all be very proud of themselves -- all the hard work they put in all season long paid off.
I look forward to running into these boys over the next 3, 5, 10, 20, 30 years, and reminiscing about the magical spring of 2008. There will never be a season quite like it.
