The Cape 9-10 baseball all-star team ran their tournament record to 2-0 with a weather-shortened 4 inning victory Sunday, defeating South Portland National by a score of 5-0. Tim was stellar on the mound, blazing fastball after fastball by the SPN batters. When the ball was put into play, the Cape defense was strong, led by outfielder Jack who made two outstanding catches in right, both on the run. John doubled and Ben had two hits. Matt and Robert had key RBI hits as well, putting the Capers to a lead that they never relinquished. Robert also gunned down a baserunner attempting to steal third to squelch a would-be SNP rally.

The Capers have been working hard in practice and it has showed so far in the tournament. They look to continue their success when they face an always tough Falmouth squad Wednesday evening in Westbrook.
