The Cubs suffered their first loss of the year Monday night in a tough 2-1 decision to the Rangers. The Cubs took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd inning due to great hustle on the bases by Dylan who singled, stole second and advanced home on a passed ball. That lead stood up until the top of the 6th inning as Marshall threw four shutout innings (7 strikeouts) and Dylan struck out the side in the 5th. The Rangers managed to cobble together a couple of runs in the top of the sixth to take the lead. With one last at bat for the Cubs, Dylan led off the inning with a towering shot to center field that was caught in front of the fence. The Cubs are anxious for a rematch and will next play the Phillies Wednesday night.
