CELL's Juniors Softball team dropped a two-of-three series against District Four champion, Biddeford, in the state tournament in Westbrook this week. The first game was an extremely well-played game, with Biddeford scratching out a 2-1 win despite the excellent pitching of Lily Jordan and the fine defensive play of the Scrapers. Game two saw Biddeford jump out to an early 8-0 lead, but the Scrapers cut the lead to three before eventually succumbing by a final of 15-7. Despite the loss in the state finals, the CELL Juniors Softball program (the only league in District Six with two teams) enjoyed a terrific season, culminating in its first District Six title since 2002.
