With a chance to nail down the South Portland half of the District 6 bracket tonight, the Cape SB 11-12 All Stars started strong in South Portland, grabbing a 4-1 lead over Scarborough after 2 innings. Scarborough roared back, however, scoring the next 10 runs on their way to an 11-4 victory over the Capers. The teams are now even in head-to-head match ups and will play a elimination showdown back at Pine Street field on Thursday.

Early game highlights included: a bunt single and sacrifice bunt in successive innings for Esme... an RBI single by Kat...alert base running and scoring on wild pitches by Esme, Dana and Abbey. Later game highlights favored the Scarborough side.

Anna pitched another complete game and struck out 7.

The team regroups after facing adversity for the first time in this tournament and will work together to get ready for a rematch with the SoPo half of the district on the line Thursday night. The Capers will miss Haley away and anxiously await a report on the outcome of a hand injury that ended Kat's game early tonight.

All together, we are strong...Cape!
